#14-106 - Thomas Glenn "Porter" Cole Porter Ball Ornament
This ornament comes from the Thomas Glenn "Jazz Collection" introduced several seasons ago and is now a "retired" ornament.
The ornament was named in honor of Cole Porter (06/09/1891 - 10/15/1964), an American composer and song writer. Although clasically trained, he was drawn toward musical theater. He wrote both lyrics and music for his songs. In 1948, he won the first Tony Award for Best Musical for "Kiss Me Kate". His songs are popular in the repetory of many notable jazz performers.
