The Bronze Dolphin

The Bronze Dolphin was born from an obsession with collecting.  Initially, it developed from attending auctions; scouring antiques shops, malls, and shows; and going to countless estate sales in search of unique collectible items.  The original purpose was to find objects to use in decorating a ten-room bed and breakfast inn on Cape Cod.  It then became a second business to help fill in time and income during the off-season.  The Bronze Dolphin has had booths and cases in various antiques malls and has participated in numerous antiques shows across the country, including Maine, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and Louisiana.  The objective was always to find unusual and interesting items: antiques; art; and collectible items including small decorative accessories, postcards, and sports/vintage photographs.

 

The stamps and covers part of the business evolved from the owner's own collection of 50+ years.  It started when the owner received a stamp album and starter collection as a childhood Christmas present.  The owner has since attended numerous stamp auctions, shows, and bourses throughout the U.S. and is currently an active member of the American Philatelic Society.  He is well-versed in identifying and appraising collections - both U.S. and world-wide.

 

The latest addition to The Bronze Dolphin's offerings is the Thomas Glenn Holidays line of Christmas ornaments.  Stunningly beautiful, the ornaments are mouth-blown and hand-painted and decorated in Poland in the old world tradition.  They have been compared in quality to those of Christopher Radko and Patricia Breen, and were featured in an article in Oprah's Magazine.  Through a unique collaboration with Thomas Glenn Holidays, The Bronze Dolphin will offer the entire line of these amazing ornaments directly online through The Bronze Dolphin website.  Another exciting feature of this arrangement will be the offering of inventory from past seasons - retired styles, prototypes, and one-of-a-kind ornaments.  These will be featured in the Christmas Past tab under the Thomas Glenn Holidays ornaments department of the website.
