In German folklore, the Belsnickel was a fur-clad grumpy giver of gifts who would reward good children with a present and bad children with a lump of coal.  This great image from the Christina's World Collection of Thomas Glenn Holidays features a Belsnickel character set against a light gold matte background.  Better not pout!!!
