Stamps - US Covers - "C4 + 627 First Flight" - 1926 Medford, Oregon
I acquired this cover from an old dealer stock. It was originally priced at $40.00 in the late 1990's. This is a first flight cover featuring the 8-cent airmail, Scott #C4, paired with the 2-cent Scott #627. The cover has a great cachet showing "First Flight Medford Oregon" and is postmarked Medford, Oregon, SEPT 15, 7:30 AM". The "From" indicates Medford, and the "To" Portland. Another postmark indicates "Seattle-Los Angeles Route - Medford, Oregon, 7:45 A.M. SEPT. 15, 1926". The reverse side shows a Portland, Oregon, cancellation same-day; and a return cancellation to Lockport, PA dated SEP 20, 1926. There is a small corner repair (lower right corner) to the C4. Scott Catalog value for the C4 on a regular cover was $22.50 and for the #627 on regular cover, $1.00 in the 2015 catalog edition. We are offering this great cover at $20.00.
